In the unlikely event that you come into contact with the Police while enjoying your naturism in a considerate and reasonable manner, the following suggestions may help you avoid further trouble. If approached by a Police Officer, we suggest that you:
The final point has become particularly important since the introduction of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act in January 2006 . Under this act you may be arrested if it facilitates the "prompt and effective investigation" of your "conduct" or if the Officer has reasonable ground for suspecting that you have not given your real name or address. If you have been treated unreasonably, be prepared to make a complaint after the event:
Remember also that - with a few exceptions - the Police Officer doesn't want to be wasting his time bothering you, any more than you want to be bothered by him or her. In all probablility, someone is giving him "grief" and demanding that he "do something".
