What is the legal structure of BN? PDF Print
Although its website is silent on this point, the Central Council for British Naturism appears to be an 'Unincorporated Association' .

This is a very informal structure and is generally used for organisations which require the participation of members with a minimum of statutory obligations. It can be cheap to set up and run but is not usually regarded as suitable for a body employing a number of staff or engaging in large projects. It is a form of organisation most commonly found in sports clubs local or community organisations and groups whose administration will be very simple.

Prospective members of an 'Unincorporated Association' should be aware that, since the organisation has no separate legal identity, should something go seriously wrong ALL the members of the association are liable. So, if the organisation becomes bankrupt - for example as a result of being sued or incurring a liability - all the members could be liable for the debts, irrespective of their individual financial circumstances.
